About The ML Initiative

From pasture to plate

Care for every season. Build value for generations.

The ML Initiative Inc is an Australian agricultural organisation operating across New South Wales and Victoria.

We focus on dual-purpose sheep, beef cattle and rotational cropping. Every decision is assessed against long-term productivity, soil health, animal welfare and the strength of local communities.

Our story

A journey measured in seasons, not only in years.

From a small regional operation, The ML Initiative has grown selectively, with each step strengthening operational capability and responsibility to the next generation.

The journey began with Merino sheep and a simple principle: leave the land in better condition than it was received.

The beef program was developed to make better use of seasonal pasture and diversify income streams.

Soil, water, livestock and productivity measures were connected in one consistent decision-making system.

Five properties now operate as a complementary portfolio across livestock, cropping and water resources.

We continue to invest in people, water infrastructure, biodiversity and climate resilience.
